Overview of the Nova Scotia PNP
In 2003, the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) was established. It was established to assist the province in meeting economic and labour market needs through immigration.
Immigration to Nova Scotia has more than tripled in the last two decades as a result of the establishment and continued development of the NSNP, as well as the 2017 launch of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP).
Nova Scotia now receives more than 7,000 new immigrants each year.
The province boasts a retention rate of more than 70%. The retention rate in the province has increased as a result of the Nova Scotia PNP and AIP’s efforts to connect newcomers with job opportunities. Both the PNP and AIP also make the transition to permanent residence easier for international graduates and temporary workers.
